Tuxtla and the Sumidero Canyon

After Palenque, we stopped in Tuxtla as a stopover on our way back to the boat, so we had two 6-hour bus rides rather than one really long ride across Chiapas. And we got to visit Sumidero canyon.

The canyon: High walls, deep water, monkeys, and a crocodile. The dam at the end of the canyon supplies about half of the electricity to Mexico. And at the dam there were pangas ready to sell us beer and snacks!
