Morelia, Michoacan

Morelia is the capital city of the state of Michoacan. It’s a big city at 6300 feet altitude. Definately a change from Zihuatanejo. It’s not a big tourist destination for ‘norteamericanos’, but there’s quite a few interesting things to see.

Lots of churches, statues, a bit too much street ‘art’, and a rare Costco in Mexico!

The historical center has buildings from the 1700’s with classic Spanish architecture. Lots of museums, restaurants, parks, and cultural attractions galore!
