Puerta Vallarta visit

We spent a week in Marina Vallarta mostly as a provisioning stop. After checking in with the marina and port captain, our next priority was hitting Costco.

Top of the Costco shopping list were bacon bits and crunchy peanut butter. No bueno on both. Somehow, we did manage to spend 8,000 pesos on other staples before calling it quits.

PV Costco before Christmas day looks just like any US Costco before Christmas day!

Marina Vallarta is in the heart of a tourist zone. Lots of good tourist-priced dining options – relatively expensive.

On Thursday evening, the weekly market was in full swing along the malecon around the marina. There was a little Salvation Army choir belting our cheerful songs. We hope they received lots of donations.

The kids had some pretty impressive dance moves and lots of energy!

Marina Vallarta is one of the three big marinas in Banderas Bay. It is great for access to shopping and the tourist scene, but it lacks the charm of the La Cruz and the outstanding amenities of Paradise Village marinas. After our week at Vallarta, we happily headed back to La Cruz for a few more days before continuing our journey south.

YO-D-YO dressed up for the holidays!
