Golfito, CR

This is our last stop in Costa Rica before we head to Panamá, so we are staying in Fish Hook marina for three nights at way less than the $200/night marinas that cater to the sport fisher yachts.

We left Bahía Drake behind at 5:15AM as we had a long 60+ mile daylight transit, and we like to enter new places in daylight.  It’s a lot more comfortable going into a new place  when you can see where you are going.  And thank you for the monkeys, Drake Bay.

Images below show us on the way to Golfito.  There’s lots less sunshine here!

Golfo Dulce is a breeding ground for three species of hammerhead sharks.  We are not swimming in this little paradise!

Since we were leaving Costa Rica, we has to check out with Immigration, Customs, and the Port Captain in that order.  It was a pretty smooth ordeal to visit all three offices, all at different locations in Golfito. I also had to visit the bank to pay one exit fee. Since I am very old, the bank guard let me wait in the ‘Servicios de Preferencia’ line instead of the capable people line. Old can sometimes be a good thing. Not very often, though.
