Adios México

We have been spending our last several days in Tapachula getting the boat and ourselves ready to head out of México. The easy part is getting the boat ready. The hard part seems to be getting ourselves ready to leave the comfort and security of sailing the Pacific side of México. After two years sailing in México, A new country will be a major change! ¡Hola Nicaragua!

The boat is getting cleaned up and organized. The dinghy is mounted on our foredeck. We are full of diesel, and the fridge and freezer are stuffed with provisions. We completed a shakedown cruise just to give us confidence that things are working after the boat’s long summer rest.

It has been really hard to commit to an exit date. We said Tuesday, but that seemed like we were rushing to get things buttoned up. So we said Thursday, but that’s Thanksgiving, and we’d arrive in Nicaragua on Saturday, but we had doubts about checking in on a weekend. So we decided to leave Saturday for a Monday arrival at our next destination.

Is hasn’t been all work.
