Nosotras Regresamos a Mexico

We have returned to Mexico!

Bienvenidos!

Thanks to everyone who supported us in our 2023 USA cross-country adventure.

We flew back to Tapachula, Chiapas, Mexico, after our final stay in Florida.  Thanks, Tom & Terri, for the extended sharing of your home.  And thanks for allowing us to use your home as our staging area for all of our gear.  We ended up with over 150 pounds of treasures to fly with us. And special thanks to Tom for getting us to the airport at 3AM.

The flights from Tallahassee to Atlanta to Mexico City to Tapachula were uneventful except that the Tallahassee TSA confiscated our plasma lighters.  They need to read their own regulations.

We returned to a very clean boat.  We hired a marina service to watch our boat during our summer absence.  Thanks to Ronnie and his team for a great job.  The only things we found wrong were our hatch cover that warped a bit from the summer sunshine, and our Mexican flag was completely used up from that same intense sun.

No more green stripe, no more red stripe.  Almost no more flag!

Our work to recomission the boat back to sailing readiness begins.  First, clean up the interior so we have somewhere to sleep at night and hide from the sun and heat during the day.  Then the real boat work: carefully re-install our venerable dodger (it has suffered years of use and abuse); re-install the running rigging and sails; hook up the electronics; clean the water tanks; start up the refrigeration; go to town for provisions, and so much more.

Is it 4pm?  Time to go to the pool. *Ah, the boating life!
