Our last scheduled tour event was a trip on Lake Titicaca to visit the Uro floating community. Titicaca is world’s highest navigable body of water with floating communities of indigenous people. I heard something about giant frogs that might scare the Loch Ness monster, too.
The Uros are a different culture than any other we have seen in Peru. They build and live on floating islands. There might be 120 or so islands.
We visited one of the islands that held four families. We even met the president of the island. Mary and I were privileged to visit the inside of their home and even try on some garb.

After returning from the lake, we happened upon another event. Everywhere we go, we seem to find parties. Puno was putting on a grand parade just for us!

Quite a fun day.
I am perplexed as to why we don’t have the vibrant colors these folks have! It looks wonderful.

OMG! I love you were able to dress up and the cool boats! And teachers everywhere deserve a parade!
