Our last stop on the Atlantic coast was Fernandina Beach on Amelia Island. We had a Vacasa voucher expiring, so we booked a 3-day stay in a beach condo. What a nice relief from our gnat experiences. The pop-up trailer stayed unused, securely locked up, and we enjoyed easy living again for a few days.
There was lots to do in this tourist destination. We found a couple bar/restaurants that had live music. We visited another historic site, Fort Clinch, with canon and gunfire. We spent plenty of time at the beach and pool.
We liked Fernandina Beach. We stopped by a couple open houses. We determined that living on a small touritsy island would be a bit more expensive than we were expecting.
