Indian Springs State Park, GA

Another interesting stop on our adventure had a couple surprises in store for us. The area is quite sleepy and rural, but fun was to be had.

This is a big stop on the Civil War March to the Sea trail.  We just happened to book our site while the Creek Indian Pow Wow was being held, and the town  of Indian Springs was celebrating their 200-year anniversary.  There’s a lot of legend and lore.  We met descendents of Indians and settlers and Scotsmen too!

Other sites we visited included High Falls State Park, the Dauset Trails Nature Center, and the famous Fresh Air Barbeque!

And we drove by the famous Sac-O-Suds from the movie “My Cousin Vinny”.  You’ve never seen Vinny?  Your life is not complete!  We did not get mud in our tires, but we did find some on our shoes…

And we ate Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistlestop Cafe in Juliet.  Our waitress was adorable.  The food great and was definitely Southern.  We had fried chicken tender tortillas the next day from our leftovers.  YUM.
