We went to Zihuatanejo to experience the 19th annual Guitarfest (amongst everything else Zihua has to offer). There were probably 25-30 different events to choose from over the week of the festival. Unfortunately for us, we booked flights back to the US and will miss many of the upcoming shows. Fortunately for us, we get to visit friends and family at home for a week.

We had reservations at the Kau Kan restaurant for one of the nightly ‘Gala Dinners.’ Two of the best guitarists were performing at our intimate little restaurant. It’s amazing how much access we had to so much talent for so few pesos…

The venue and view and dinner and the music were spectacular.

Zihuatanejo from Kau Kau restaurant. City lights and boats in the harbor.

We were expecting lots of flamenco but were treated to many different artists and genres during the shows we were able to attend. Below is a short snippet of our dinner show with El Guapo, um, El Jovi that is…

If you want, you can see some of the other guitarists on the Guitarfest Facebook page.
