It cools off after a good rain and we needed to get out of the boat and walk. There is no better walk than along La Paz malecon. The water and spectacular sunsets are one side of the street and numerous bars and restaurants are on the other side. We found one restaurant that still had happy hour going past 8pm and enjoyed a couple margaritas (each) while watching the sun dip below the horizon.
Aa we made our way back to the boat, we heard music! On the first Fridays of the month there are top notch bands playing for free on the Malecon. This one happened to be a 12 person salsa group from Colombia. There were very good! Of course we tried to salsa and incurred no injuries physical or psychological. It was a blast.
The Malecon seems to have lots of open air music and cultural events going on regularly. Another evening’s event we happened upon was an indigenous peoples celebration. Quite fun to watch!
