We drove around Jekyll last year. This time, we sailed in and stayed at Jekyll Harbor Marina. After securing the boat, we took a twelve minute walk across the island to the main beach on the Atlantic side. We needed a walk away from the boat!

The island has an amazing history. It was where all the millionaires from the late 1800’s would spend ‘The Season’ getting away from business to relax with family and nearly every other millionaire of note. The historic district has a number of their mansions available for tours.

There are other museums, restaurants, parks, miles of beaches and bike paths, and a turtle rescue to visit and support.

The island was decked out for Christmas. We walked through a menagerie of displays.

Sadly, the hot tub and pool at the marina were out of service. That would have been a treat. They did let us borrow bikes and a golf cart to go touring. Very nice.
