We took some time to explore the Brunswick area and then have some fun with the marina people.
First was a drive to the beach on St. Simon’s Island. There was a museum showing how involved the Brunswick area was in WWII. They built victory ships here and had patrols looking for German submarines. Did you know there were German u-boats just a few miles off the eastern coast of the US? The museum also had some hands-on exhibits. It was very well done.

After the museum, it was time for a walk on the beach! It was later in the day, and the beach was perfect.
A couple of days later, the marina activities director (yes, this marina has an activities director), arranged for a group to have some fun on a local golf course. We got to drive golf carts around an 18-hole golf course while it was closed for maintenance. Of course, there were activities on some holes, flyswatter golf, towel volleyball, a golf cart drag race, and limbo. Followed by a delicious dinner. What a great day.

very cool!

A resort style marina. Sounds (looks)like you are having a blast. There is an interesting movie that recently came out. Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare. U-boat related. Have (more) fun.
