We are out of the Keys!
No Name Harbor (yes, that’s it real name) is a small harbor on Key Biscayne. It’s really close to Miami. On weekends, it is packed with alcohol-infused boaters who all have serious speaker envy, and no common boating sense. We arrived on a Wednesday morning and plan to leave before the arrival of the “Cuban navy,” as the mash of weekend boaters are referred to.

It’s a well-protected harbor with one purportedly expensive restaurant. We spent the day on the boat working issues, so no land time other than to go and pay the $20 overnight mooring fee.

The fridge was acting up, so a quick defrost was done by Mary, but the problem persisted. Upon further research, we found the fridge using air instead of water cooling. We switched over to water, and we’ll see how it looks in the morning.
Our next stop is a small anchorage at Hillsboro Inlet, about 33 miles up the coast, so a no-rush exit in the morning. We’ll be there in no time!
Big check mark complete. We now have US insurance for the boat. You can’t stay at a marina without insurance. Our expensive Caribbean insurance ran out as soon as we entered US territorial waters, and now we have expensive US insurance to replace it. Hope we never need to use it, either!
