Vista Mar Area

One of the first tasks we needed take care of was grocery shopping. We started walking on the beach to the little town of San Carlos. We met two ladies along the way who they offered to drive us to town. Of course, we took the ride.

In town, while Dave was getting money from the ATM, I talked to a local cop stationed outside the bank. He told us it would be $1.00 for both of us to ride the bus into Coronado, the big city which is about 15 minutes down the Pan-American Highway. He flagged down the right bus for us, and we were on our way.

The bus was a very nice air-conditioned van very similar to the collectivos we used in Mexico. Except for the working air conditioning. The drive was about 30 min as traffic was very bad.

Once we got to our stop, we walked several blocks to a brewery that our friends Don and Roz told us about. They have excellent beer and great burgers. We chose the North Coast peanut butter chocolate milk stout (from Eureka, CA).

Following our lunch, we did a bit of shopping. Everything is priced in dollars so we know exactly what stuff costs. No need to do currency conversions. And then we caught a taxi right back to the marina. A pretty easy day.
