Lighthouse and Apalachicola

One of our last days in Florida we went to the Crooked Tree Lighthouse and then off to Apalachicola. We were able to climb 127 step to the top of the Lighthouse and Tim, one of the volunteers joined us. Tim explained a bit of the history of the light and how it has changed. After they replaced the Bi-valve Fresnel lens. It has a gymnasium light in it now that puts out 100,000 lumens. It’ll cook a Nathan’s hot dog in under one minute.

Another stop was the bottle house. This is a house and Lighthouse made out of all different kinds of bottles. It is very cool.

The last stop of the day was Apalachicola and some cold Hooter Brown beer and a late lunch.
