We had a challenging mooring pickup in Two Harbors yesterday. The wind was blowing more than expected which made it a chore. When you pick up a mooring buoy you grab a pole then pull up the line until you find the loop then loop it on your forward cleat. Then you pick up the spreader line and follow it back to the stern loop and tie that off to the stern cleat. The wind kept blowing our stern away and we could not bring it over. We had to do it backwards. We picked up the stern first then Dave was able to drive the boat towards the bow pickup while I pulled the line. Boy that earned us a beer. Then a kayak to the beach to see what is there. We will come back to shore tomorrow for a hike.
