Happy New Year

Dave and I left St. Augustine and headed for St. Mary’s, GA. We wanted to be in St. Mary’s for New Year’s Eve. We stopped at Sister’s Creek dock about halfway to St. Mary’s. There was supposed to be some nasty weather, so we hunkered down for a couple of nights. It was a god thing, too. We quite a storm.

The morning we had to leave Sister’s Creek, it was very foggy. It is a good thing we have great charts and radar. Well, we thought we had radar. It was powering down after running for a short time. Dave will figure out what the problem is and fix it. He’s good. I was on the bow as the lookout, Dave was at the helm. We had our new communication headsets so we could talk to each other. Needless to say, we made it to St. Mary’s marina safety.

The marina was great. They had a house that was the cruisers “lounge.” They had free laundry, coffee, bikes, and nice showers.

We explored the town, had some good food, saw fireworks, and danced on New Year’s Eve. It was a great way to end 2024 and bring in 2025.
