Whew! We were very lucky to have made it through Hurricane Helene with little damage to our house and no damage to our boat.
As you may know, we bought a house in Evans GA. Just west of Agusta. Way outside hurricane territory, or so we thought. The eye of the hurricane passed us about 30 miles to the west. They reported gusts up to 80 miles an hour. The only damage to our house was that part of our back fence blew down, we had some tree branches down in the front yard, and we lost power. As I write this, we are still without power 5 days later. Needless to say, we lost all the food in the refrigerator and freezer.

Did I mention that we were in Washington helping Dave’s dad. I was up all night checking the weather and forecast for Evans, Brunswick, and Tallahassee areas. My brother and his family live in the Tallahassee area. Like I was going to be able to do anything if something terrible happened. Thankfully, our family is all safe and sound.
The power company is working tirelessly trying to get power restored as quickly as possible. The county road crews were out clearing the roads of tree debris so residents were able to get out. Slowly, roads opened, and gas stations and grocery stores opened. We are blessed.

Hi Mary! I have been occupied and seeing your posts been no time to reply. Glad to know you are all well and property still standing. Georgia, huh! I hope you and Dave are registered to vote there. This election is going to be a doozy. Sending hugs from the Great Basin!
