We are slowly getting YO in tip-top condition for the upcoming sailing season. One major task was installing the new windex on the top of the mast. The windex gives us the direction and speed of the wind. We (meaning Dave) take it down when we leave for the summer so birds don’t land on it and break it. On the way up the mast, Dave removed the covers to the steaming light, attached the radar reflectors, and removed the mast head cover. It is a long way to the top of the mast. He is my Hero!

After the major project, we treated ourselves to a taxi ride to the small town of Puerto Madero. It is a lot closer than Tapachula. We went to the small malacon, then walked the town looking for a grocery store and fruit and veggie market.
There were small tiendas (aka “grocery” stores) where we got a few staples, then to a fruit stand for a few more items. We both decided we would rather go to the bigger stores in Tapachula. There is more variety, fewer flies, and air conditioning.

Of course we had to go out to dinner to the restaurant by the marina. Great food.

Nice work. Has to be a bit scary up there. I am a bit jealous of your independence from the boatyard.πͺ

Yikes! Dave would be my hero too if I had to get up there. Way to go Dave!
