Petersburg COE Campground, GA

This campground was on the J Strom Thermond reservoir. This was one of our favorite sites. Our site was right on the water. The “living room” was a few steps down from our camper, then had a short private trail to our almost private beach. Swimming in clear clean water was very nice on a hot afternoon. We even had to invest in some floating toys.

We went on a couple of beautiful hikes around the lake. One day, we did 5 miles, and a couple of days later, we did 7 miles. In between, we visited the dam and drove part-way around the lake. We had beautiful weather after Hurricane Idalia.
