New Bern Fun

We spent a few days in New Bern with our friends who moved here from Reno a few years ago.  It was a very relaxing visit and a nice change from our camping excursions.

We spent a couple of nights at their condo on the beach in Morehead City.  Sweet!  The Atlantic Ocean water was so warm.  From Morehead, we all went out to Island for more beach time and to look for conch and welk shells.  Success!

Back in New Bern, Dennis had us join him for a ‘beer can’ race on his Tartan 34.  Great effort.  We had a couple short drag races with other boats.

We also spent a few hours with a realtor looking at houses.  You get a lot of house for your buck compared to Reno.  Sadly, there were no homes that we fell in love with this trip.  Some day, we will need to make connection to our new land home.

Finally, we met up with another couple from the Panama Posse who we originally met in San Diego.  Nice to see Bruce and Lynette on two coasts.
