The boat is ready. We are ready. Let summer begin.
We feel very fortunate to have good friends staying on their boats in the same marina YO is in. They will be staying through the summer. They will be keeping an eye on the YO. We also have one of the marina employees doing a weekly check and cleaning and diving the boat once a month. We feel so much better about leaving our floating home when we know she is being looked after.
Some of the last-minute prep work was to remove and stow the dodger nice and flat on our bed so it will not get damaged. We cleaned out the refrigerator, giving our neighbors our remaining food and beverages. We also put out insect deterrent (bay leaves, soap, and roach traps). Sounds pleasant, eh?
